"The Hebrew Hammer"

Released December, 2020

This is a barrel of 14+ year old high-rye straight bourbon (60% corn, 36% rye, 4% malted barley), that was filled on May 30th, 2006 and bottled at 121 proof. It was sourced from MGP, in Lawrenceburg, IN, by One Eight Distilling back in 2015, though the whiskey was distilled in 2006 when the facility was still owned by Pernod Ricard, producing whiskey for Seagrams.

What makes this barrel so special is that 80% of its contents was lost to the "angels share" from when it was filled until when it was dumped (average angels share for a barrel of bourbon in KY is 8-10%). What that means is that all of the complex earthy and fruity flavors have been concentrated in the remaining 20% of whiskey (and let me tell you, the nose and flavor from this whiskey are phenomenal). The downside is that only 54 bottles total came out of the barrel, so these are extremely limited.
