"Am Yisrael High"

Released April, 2022

This barrel was released to celebrate the "History of Jews and Cannabis" exhibit by YIVO: Institute for Jewish Research.

Age: 6 years, 1 month
Type: Straight bourbon
Proof: 115.2
Mash bill: 60% Corn/ 36% Rye/ 4% Malted Barley
Distillery: MGP
Bottler: J&B
Tasting notes:

Nose: Definitely straight down the diabetes aisle -- butterscotch, brown sugar, buttery shortbread and maple syrup

Palate: Starts out with Cinnamon Toast Crunch, followed by more maple syrup and some bits of pecan pie. The maple syrup comes back at the end of the palate and sticks for a long time. This is why we humans make our own insulin.

Finish: Long and sticky-sweet

Overall: While sweet notes dominate each aspect of the whiskey experience, they are never overly intense to the point where one would call this pour "too sweet", rather "pleasantly sweet" seems to fit it better.
